EndoStim Value
Clinical Data Demonstrates:
- • Reduction in reflux volume and regurgitation experienced by many PPI patients
- • Individualized, customizable therapy, tailored to patient lifestyle and preference
- • Wireless adjustment
- • Safe, completely reversible procedure
The EndoStim Lower Esophageal Stimulation System is for individuals with gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD) and is intended to reduce GERD symptoms by delivering electrical stimulation to the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). The system consists of the following components and required accessories:
- • EndoStim Implantable Pulse Generator (IPG)
- • EndoStim Implantable Bipolar Lead
- • EndoStim Programmer (external)
The EndoStim IPG is an internally-powered device that delivers electrical stimulation signals to the lower esophageal sphincter using proprietary stimulation algorithms. The device battery is non-rechargeable, with longevity of 10-15 years under typical use. The IPG is programmable, i.e., its parameters and algorithms can be set by the attending medical personnel to suit the patient’s needs via wireless communication with the EndoStim Programmer. The IPG is connected to an EndoStim implantable bipolar lead which is used to deliver the electrical stimulation therapy to the LES. This is accomplished via the lead electrodes which are stitched and secured into the LES muscle during laparoscopy. EndoStim’s lead implantation technique utilizes anchoring each electrode with sutures to the tissue at 2 points immediately proximal to the electrode (at the entrance into the tissue) and with titanium clips at 2 points distal to the electrode (at the exit from the tissue). The use of two anchor points on both ends of each electrode (a total of 4 anchoring points) has been proven to prevent lead dislodgement.
